Mariah’s E=MC2 Perfect Formula For #1
April 23, 2008 – 8:41 amMariah’s latest album, E=MC2, has taken over the US album charts this week debuting at #1 with the best first week sales of her career - over 475,000 copies sold.
It doesn’t take a genius to realize Mariah Carey’s new Island/IDJ album, E=MC2, is a smash.
Her follow-up to The Emancipation of Mimi set an all-time record for the diva with first-week sales of 475k, more than five times the total of the runner-up, J Records’ Leona Lewis, at 90k, after last week’s #1 debut.
Meanwhile, E=MC2 holds strong at Australian retail stores where it remains sitting pretty at #1 on iTunes, #1 at Big W and debuts at #5 on the national Sanity album chart.
On the single side, Touch My Body, moves from #4 on Chasomusic.com.au’s charts to, of course, #1!
